Enugu applauded for cordiality between executive, legislature

The Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has described Enugu State as a good example of the gains of cordiality between the executive and the legislative arms of government.

Making the assertion when he led Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria on a courtesy call on the State Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani at the Government House, Enugu, Hon. Amaechi who is also the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly noted that the business of government thrives better when all the arms of government cooperate and work together for the benefit of the people.

He described Enugu as one state where this co-operation has been exemplary, yielding a stream of infrastructural facilities to the joy of the people.

He advocated the sustenance of the prevalent inter-sectoral relationship and urged other states in the federation to borrow a leaf from the Enugu State example for the sustenance of democracy. Hon. Amaechi used the forum to inform Governor Nnamani that the Speakers were in the state for their annual conference and thanked him for the warm reception accorded them since their arrival.

Receiving the Speakers, Governor Nnamani through his Deputy, Chief Okechukwu Itanyi said the meeting was a welcome development as it would help foster good relationship among arms of government and at the macro level, unify the nation.
