Nnamani tasks PDP members on faith and loyalty
March 3, 2006

Governor Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State has declared that the state wing of the Peoples Democratic Party is anchored on solid rock and therefore there was no cause for alarm.

Addressing local government and ward executives of the party from Enugu North Senatorial Zone at a meeting held at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu, the governor cautioned them not to fall prey to the machinations of political harlots, whom he said, would come in large numbers to tempt them and lead them astray.

He expressed full confidence in the leadership of the state executive of the PDP, led by Chief Onyioha Nwanjoku, but stressed that it was time to get back to the basics of political mobilization.

The political mobilization, the governor noted, must start from the ward and local governments, and lead up to the primaries which should be open to all with potentials for service and greatness.

Governor Nnamani stressed that the party leaders should insist on the selection of the right caliber of party coordinators, whom he said should be loyal and solid people that are dedicated at all times, rather than those more interested in safeguarding their wealth and ready to jump ship when the going gets tough.

He thanked all the party faithfuls, and looking back at the seven years of his administration, the governor declared "we did not drop from the sky, we have worked in Enugu State and projects are on-going."

Earlier in his speech, the youth leaders in Udenu Local Government, Mr. Nestor Ezema assured the governor of the unflinching support from the youths of Enugu North Senatorial Zone, adding that they were ready and waiting for directives from him.

The state chairman of the PDP, Chief Onyioha Nwanjoku, lauded Governor Nnamani for the interactive forum aimed at mobilization and sensitization of the party faithful of the Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

The Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon David Atigwe also thanked the governor for always remembering the foot soldiers of the party after the campaign and elections, adding that the PDP is waxing stronger in Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

In the same vein, a newly appointed permanent secretary, Mr. Felix Amoke, enjoined all to work hard at their posts, since according to him, the governor never fails to notice a hard-worker to reward him/her accordingly, adding that he was a practical example of such acts.

The women leader of the PDP, Enugu State, Princess Peace Nnaji, assured Governor Nnamani of the unalloyed support of the women of the state if indeed there would be a third term, adding that they would love to have him continue in office.
