Nnamani charges Enugu PDP on grassroots mobilization

State officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been directed to go all out and mobilize the people and strengthen the party structure at the grassroots.

The State Governor and leader of the party in Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, gave the directive at a meeting with the State Executive Committee and Local Government Chairmen of the party in the State.

Governor Nnamani charged them to step up action and re-establish their presence by adequate public enlightenment to explain how the party manifesto was implemented in the state.

According to Governor Nnamani, "we have been on holidays in the past months, now time has come for hardwork since work has started."

He restated his belief that power belongs to the people, adding that it was in realization of this that all the while the party in the state had been working with their mandate.

The State Chief Executive stressed the need for absolute loyalty to the party at all levels, adding that there is no room for those with wobbling loyalty or people with little faith.

He however thanked the party officials for their absolute faith, total support and obedience to the party, pointing out that every member of the party has the potentials of rising to any level at both the local, state and national levels.

Earlier in his speech, the State Chairman of the Party, Chief Dr. Onyiaoha Nwanjoku, commended Governor Nnamani for his visionary leadership and landmark achievements in the state.

The State Party Chairman, expressed the party's absolute confidence on the leadership of Governor Nnamani in the state and assured him of their total support at all times.

Chief Nwanjoku used the occasion to debunk the report in some media establishments that the State Executive of the party had been dissolved.

He described the report as untrue, baseless and the handiwork of imposters and confusionist, adding that the State Executive of the party in which he is the Chairman is still in place.

Chief Nwanjoku therefore advised detractors and all those who are not happy with the way the party is being run in the state to leave the party, adding that from now on any form of anti-party activity will be met with serious sanctions as contained in their constitution.

He noted that the National Executive of the party had already issued a statement on the matter, stating that PDP as a disciplined party has no room for impostors, detractors and mischief makers.

The State Woman Leader, Princess Peace Nnaji in her vote of thanks urged the party faithfuls to remain focused and work harder to sustain the successes made by the party in the past years.

The State women leader, Princess Nnaji told the Governor that the party in the state will vote for him for another tenure if the constitution is amended as such. She thanked the Governor for his good works in the state, especially programmes designed to better the lots of women and children.

Governor Nnamani also today addressed Zonal and local government party coordinators in the state.
