Nnamani justifies huge investments in infrastructure
January 30, 2006
Governor Chimaroke Nnamani has declared that his administration's massive investment in social and infrastructural development of the state is already yielding dividends.

He stated this in Enugu when he received in audience a delegation of officers and men of Course 28 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, who paid him a courtesy visit at Government house, Enugu.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Chief Okechukwu Itanyi, disclosed that during the first four years of his administration, emphasis was placed on infrastructural development and providing the enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.

Governor Nnamani noted that because of this solid foundation, Enugu State has gone from being a Civil Service State to a commercial centre, thriving with businesses from the service, manufacturing and banking sectors.

While urging members of the Armed Forces to continue to promote and defend Nigeria's fledging democracy, the Governor commended them for the good job they have done so far and the professionalism of the Command and Staff College, Jaji.

Earlier in his address, the team leader of the delegation, Commodore Samuel Akinbami had stated that they were in Enugu, as part of their training which requires students to undertake a training tour of Nigeria.

He disclosed that the theme of this year's tour, "Empowering Small and Medium-scale Enterprises for Sustainable Economic Development," was in line with the spirit of reform sweeping across the country.

Commodore Akinbami commended Governor Nnamani for his leading role in repositioning Enugu State in terms of the aggressive social infrastructural and economic development of the state.
