Nnamani urges PDP members to embrace teamwork
March 8, 2006
Governor Chimaroke Nnamani has called on members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to continue to work as a team to sustain and improve upon the gains recorded by the party in the past years.

Governor Nnamani also advised them to remain focused, work hard to strengthen the party's line-up and structure at both the ward, local government and state levels.

The Governor stated this while addressing a very formidable pro-PDP formidable women group of the party, the Ada Chimaroke, from Enugu North Senatorial Zone during their meeting at Okpara Square Enugu.

The leader of the party in the state described the women as a very indispensable arm of the party who had contributed immensely to the successes of his government and the party.

He therefore told them that the meeting was arranged to thank them for their support to the party and his administration and also to inform them that work has started and they should therefore go back to the grassroots and mobilize their members to build a
real structure that will take them through the forthcoming primaries and general elections.

The Governor used the occasion to assure them that they were potential councilors, legislators and chairmen of councils and should therefore not allow anybody to deceive them.

In his speech, the state chairman of the party, Chief Dr. Onyioha Nwanjoku, thanked the women for their support and assured them of their fair share of democracy dividends and full recognition in the scheme of things more than ever before.

Chief Nwanjoku told them that PDP in Enugu State was in full control of affairs and advised them to be mindful of those he described as detractors and ingrates.
Also, in her contribution the chairman of Nkanu Central Development Centre, Chief (Mrs.) Kate Eneh, recounted the numerous achievements of the Governor and
appointments given to the women in the state.

Chief (Mrs) Eneh, pointed out that a good number of the women are now gainfully employed courtesy of Governor Nnamani, adding that more good things will come their way in so far they were within the Ebeano political family.

The PDP zonal women leader for the South/East Mrs. Monica Atigwe thanked the Governor for the even distribution of amenities and political appointments to every part of the state and assured him of the total support of the women from the Enugu North Senatorial zone.

Mrs. Atigwe drew the women's attention to those she described as “Abuja politicians” who have no home base, reminding them that they had nothing to offer but empty promises.

She therefore told them that anybody who left the Ebeano structure for any reason will have herself to blame.

The member representing Udenu Local Government Area in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Eugenia Ogbu, in her address thanked both the Governor and the party for the recognition given to the women in the State House of Assembly, local government administration, among others.

Hon. Ogbu pointed out that the programmes of the administration of Governor Nnamani in Enugu state for women and children was the best in all the states of the federation and therefore called on the women to brace up and redouble their support to the Governor and his good works.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Local Government Matters, Dr. Festus Uzor reminded the people that it was not necessary to change a winning team, pointing out that the party structure in the state had to be maintained and fortified for the challenges ahead.
